THUNDERBIRDS TRADE BRZEK TO ICE BREAKERS

Winston-Salem, N.C. – The Carolina Thunderbirds are announcing a trade completed today with the Mentor Ice Breakers.

The Carolina Thunderbirds are sending the rights to camp invite Dominik Brzek to the Mentor Ice Breakers. The Thunderbirds are receiving future considerations from Mentor.

Brzek, 20, is a native of Most in the Czech Republic who last year played for the Coldwater Ice Wolves of the CJPHL. In the 2017-18 season he registered 63 points (28G-35A) in 42 games.

“Dominik is a very good player, but we got some players down from the SPHL and our camp got full” head coach Andre Niec said. “Mentor needed a strong d-man and it was a deal that could be worked. When camp gets full like this year’s, decisions must be made. We wish Dominik the best of luck this season.”

Brzek also played in four games in the Czech3 league during the 2018-19 season with HC Draci Bilina registering three assists in four games.
