Thunderbirds set for road game against IceCats

FLORENCE, S.C. – The Twin City Thunderbirds are set for tonight’s middle game of the team’s three-game road series against the Pee Dee IceCats tonight at the Florence Center following last night’s 5-2 loss. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:15pm ET.


Twin City (15-18-1) dropped a road contest last night to Pee Dee, and dropped to 5th place in the FPHL’s Continental Division. Roman Kraemer scored each of the Thunderbird’s goals in the loss. Kraemer’s two goals were his 13th and 14th of the 2025-2026 regular season. Boris Babik was in net for Twin City last night, and made 43 saves on 47 shots. Twin City netted a powerplay goal for the 28th time in the season during last night’s contest. The Thunderbirds are 4-6-0 in the last ten games, and enter tonight’s matchup with a 6-3-0 record in head-to-head games played against the IceCats this season. Scoring leaders for the Thunderbirds through thirty-four games played this season include Gus Ford (21), Zach White (20), and Roman Kraemer (14).


Pee Dee (14-18-3) won a three-goal decision last night on home ice over Twin City. Dominiks Marcinkevics (2), Patriks Marcinkevics, Nick Magill-Diaz, and Alexander Legkov scored goals for the IceCats in the victory. Parker Rutherford made 22 saves on 24 shots during the matchup to record the win in net for Pee Dee. Nicholas Magill-Diaz’s 1st period goal during last night’s game was the 35th powerplay goal scored by the IceCats this season. Pee Dee outshot Twin City by an overall margin of 48-24 during last night’s contest. Scoring leaders for the IceCats entering tonight’s home game against the Thunderbirds include Alexander Legkov (25), Patriks Marcinkevics (25), and Dominiks Marcinkevics (25).


Twin City’s next home games will be played back-to-back against the Watertown Wolves on Friday, February 27th and Saturday, February 28th. Puck drop for Friday’s game is set for 7:05pm ET, and Saturday’s matchup will begin at 6:05pm ET.
