Thunderbirds coach's show to be live on location this year

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.- The 2019 Commissioner’s Cup champion Carolina Thunderbirds, a proud member of the Federal Prospects Hockey League, are excited to announce that the 2019-2020 coach’s show will be hosted live on location this season.

The Labatt Coach’s Show presented at the Carolina Ale House will be hosted live every Tuesday night at the Carolina Ale House, 150 Hanes Mall Cir., in Winston-Salem. The show will also be broadcasted live on the flagship station for Thunderbirds hockey, WTOB 980am/96.3fm and can be seen live on the team YouTube page, Thunderbirds TV.

“We are very excited to have a partnership with the Carolina Ale House,” said Thunderbirds general manager Jimmy Milliken, “keeping the show in a well-known location week after week will keep fans coming back for a chance to ask the coach questions and see the team up close.”

Last year’s show was a tremendous success for the Thunderbirds and this year the live studio audience will have an opportunity to interact with head coach Andre Niec and select players on a weekly basis.

“I’m excited for this opportunity,” remarked Drew Blevins, the Thunderbirds play-by-play voice and coach’s show host, “this is a perfect place for us to be because we have a great restaurant partner that provides top-quality food and drink for our fans and a great venue for us to host to a show from.”

The tentative first date for the show is Tuesday, October 22 ahead of the season’s opening game at Elmira on October 25.

“Carolina Ale House already has a great relationship with NHL’s Carolina Hurricanes and now we’re excited to have them have a relationship with the Thunderbirds,” Milliken remarked.

The Thunderbirds have also announced that 10-game rivalry packs go on sale on Monday, August 12. These ticket packages feature Carolina taking on some of their fiercest rivals in the FPHL.
