THUNDERBIRDS ADD MORE PLAYERS TO TRYOUT CAMP

WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Carolina Thunderbirds are pleased to announce the signing of three more players to Player Tryout Agreements. The first of the three is Vjotech Zemlicka, a forward from the Czech Republic. The 22-year-old Zemlicka stands at 5’11” and weighs in at 181 pounds. Heading into his 2nd year in the Federal Hockey League, Zemlicka spent last season with the Berlin River Drivers, playing for Thunderbirds coach Andre Niec. In 43 games during the 2016-2017 season, Salak scored 10 goals and had 15 assists, along with 22 penalty minutes and a plus 21 rating.

Another River Driver veteran has signed with the Thunderbirds. 22-year-old Dominik Synek is also a native of the Czech Republic, and stands at 6’1” and 181 pounds. In 55 games with Berlin last season, the forward Synek tallied 34 goals and 43 assists. He also had 16 penalty minutes and a plus 37 rating.

The third player joining the Thunderbirds training camp is Chris Martin. The 21-year-old from Oakville, Ontario. A big-bodied forward, Martin stands at 6’7” and 229 pounds. During the 2016-2017 season, Martin spent 34 games playing for the St. George Ravens of the Greater Metropolitan Junior A Hockey League. During that stint he notched 35 goals, 16 assists, and 38 penalty minutes. He joined the professional ranks in the FHL later in the season, playing for Berlin, Port Huron, and Cornwall. In Both Cornwall and Port Huron Martin played in 2 games and notched 4 points, 2 goals and 2 assists. In 6 games with Berlin he tallied 2 goals, 1 assist, and 2 penalty minutes.

The Thunderbirds will be announcing more player signings during the coming weeks as more players are signed to PTO Agreements.
