Konner Haas on loan to SPHL's Fayetteville

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.- The Fayetteville Marksmen of the Southern Professional Hockey League have acquired forward Konner Haas on loan from the Carolina Thunderbirds.

Haas earned two goals and four assists in eight games with Carolina this season.

The native of Calgary, Alb. was part of training camp with the Marksmen but one was of the final cuts from the initial SPHL roster.

“We wish him well over there,” said general manager Jimmy Milliken, “we are here to give guys the chance to move up and we want him to make the most of it. We’re behind him here in Carolina.”

Haas has a unique story. He did not play last season anywhere, but the year before he played for the University of Windsor.

Haas is slated to join Fayetteville today before the Marksmen face the Birmingham Bulls on the road this weekend.

The Thunderbirds will play Columbus in Georgia on Friday and in Winston-Salem on Saturday.

Saturday, Carolina is proud to host the Zooperstars! and the city of Winston-Salem is providing giveaway water bottles to fans as they come through the doors. Tickets are still available in limited quantities for Saturday.
