5 More Thunderbirds Added to Roster

Winston-Salem, NC – The Carolina Thunderbrids have added more players to the active roster ahead of this weekend’s games against the Danville Dashers. Daniel Chang, Kelly Curl, Seth Gustin, Tom Kilgore, and Vojtech Zemlicka have all signed contracts with the Thunderbirds for the upcoming 2017-2018 season.

A notable signing among the five is goaltender Kelly Curl, hailing from McLeansville, North Carolina is currently the assistant coach of the Wake Forest Men’s Club Hockey Team.

Head Coach Andre Niec commented on the signings; “Chang is a physical player who brings a lot of energy to the team. Kelly (Curl) surprised us in camp with his play, he is a skilled goaltender with a good head for the game. Seth (Gustin) gives us smart play and will be a steady presence on the ice. Tom (Kilgore) is a hardworking guy with some experience in the league. Vojtech (Zemlicka) is a smart player who knows his role and where to be on the ice, he played for me last year so I expect him to be a big factor on our team.”   

Thursday, October 26 the Thunderbirds will be at Mac & Nellis on Country Club Road in Winston-Salem from 5:30 to 8 pm for the Season Ticket Holder Pick-Up Party. Fans will be able to pick up their tickets for the 2017-2018 season as well as meet and greet the team and coach. Mac & Nellis is offering beverage and food specials for Thunderbirds fans.
