This will be my 14th year working in pro hockey in the area and looking forward to a great year! Currently play the game and have been on the ice for 40 years! I have a love and passion for the sport and this Thunderbirds team, I enjoy working with the guys from the veterans to the Rockies! We have a good team behind the bench and all work together to make it all happen. Looking forward to a great season working with some awesome people and players!

Damien 'Cap' Poole
'Cap' has been in the fire and emergency services since 1994. 'Cap' has been a certified North Carolina State Emergency Medical Technician since 1995. 'Cap grew up watching local minor pro hockey teams in Winston-Salem. The father of 4 children and married. This is 'Cap's' fifth year as a Bench Medic/Equipment Manager for the Carolina Thunderbirds.

Rod Harris
Rod Harris (Lightning Rod) Born & raised in Matawan, NJ and played hockey at Brookdale College. Was the 3rd employee hired by the New Jersey Devils in 1982 for the equipment-locker room staff. Was the 10th employee hired by the Tampa Bay Lightning in 1992 for the equipment-locker room staff, spent 30 years with the Bolts. Retired to the Winston-Salem area in the summer of 2022.

-1 time NHL President Trophy winner.
-2 time selected to work the NCAA Frozen Four Tournament.
-3 times selected to work the NHL AllStar Game.
-5 time NHL Prince of Wales Trophy winner.
-3 time Stanley Cup winner.
-Winner of the 2022 NHL Mike Foley Commitment to Excellence Award.

Mike Murphy
Mike Murphy born in West Islip New York and raised in Pam Harbor FL. A hockey fan his entire life, relocated to Winston Salem in 2007. Currently a resident of Clemmons NC with his wife and 2 children and a business owner in Kernersville NC.
