Thunderbirds bolster offense in Elmira dispersal draft

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Carolina Thunderbirds have added forwards Brandon Tucker and Blake Peavey, as well as defenseman Carson Vance via the Elmira Enforcers dispersal draft Thursday afternoon.

“I feel like these three players are good selections from a good team, we hope to see them in a Carolina jersey in the future,” said Thunderbirds GM Kelly Curl.

The trio combined for 37 points in Elmira during the 2020-2021 campaign. Vance spent limited time in Elmira last season, skating in 20 games with the SPHL’s Huntsville Havoc.

“This year will bring a lot of good players to the surface these guys can definitely help,” added Thunderbirds owner Barry Soskin.

Through 67 regular season games in the FPHL, Tucker has accumulated 32 goals and 36 assists for 68 points. Blake Peavey is coming off a rookie season in which he tallied nine points through 22 regular season games.

Through two dispersal drafts this summer, the Carolina Thunderbirds have acquired five skaters.
