Thunderbirds Add An Additional 4 Players To Roster

Winston-Salem, NC – The Carolina Thunderbrids have signed four additional players to contracts for the 2017-2018 season. Forwards Dominik Synek and CJ Blaszka, defensemen Justin Blaszak and Goaltender Chris Paulin have all signed contracts with the Thunderbirds. The four players join the Thunderbirds roster ahead of the opening road weekend against the Danville Dashers on October 27 and 28. The games will be broadcast live on the Thunderbirds Radio Network, on WTOB 980 AM and 96.3 FM in Winston-Salem and WAME 550 AM and 92.9 FM in Statesville.

Head Coach Andre Niec commented on the signing of the four players “Dominik (Synek) was the rookie of the year last year, I know about his game, he will be a strong factor on our team. CJ (Blaszka) is fast and dynamic, as a rookie he has a lot of development, but with his skills we will be able to help him grow as a player. Justin (Blaszak) is a veteran player, he will be a strong leader on this squad and help the younger guys develop. Chris (Paulin) is originally from New York but lives down in High Point, we traded away Scott Witmyer to the Watertown Wolves to get his rights. We feel he is a strong goaltender and will give us a great chance to win.”

The Thunderbirds players and coach will be out at the Chick-Fil-A at the Hanes Mall on Tuesday the 24th from 5:30 to 7 pm for the Carolina Thunderbirds Coaches Show.
